About Us
Lake Mary Yacht Club (LMYC) Scholarships is a Northern Arizona University Army ROTC alumni organization that strives to grow future leaders through financial assistance, alumni networks, and mentorship opportunities.
Our Mission
Reduce the burden of educational costs to enable future military officers to focus on being influential leaders of character without the interference of financial hardship.
History
The Lake Mary Yacht Club was founded in 2011 by Randall Cox, Benjamin Driss, Bradley Sonoda, and Eric Reed. It started as a club focused on collaborating on leadership challenges, debating current events, and bettering the world in meaningful ways. The founders believe that the best way to improve the world is to help build morally strong leaders of character through education and mentorship. In 2018 the club voted to establish the Lake Mary Yacht Club Scholarship Foundation, better known as LMYC Scholarships. LMYC Scholarships would focus on providing financial aid to ROTC students attending Northern Arizona University (NAU). The founders wanted to find a way to give back to the NAU community that served as the launch pad for their individual careers. LMYC Scholarships strives to provide the future generation of leaders a better opportunity at success by paying back to a program that has impacted all of their lives.
